Description:

Union Public Service Commission, UPSC has released notification in their official website inviting online application from interested and eligible candidates for examination of Engineering Services (Preliminary / Stage I) Examination, Indian Economic Service Examination, Indian Statistical Service Examination and Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination for approximately 400 posts. Details of these are discussed below.

Engineering Services (Preliminary / Stage I) Examination
The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 215 including 07 vacancies for the Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) (03 vacancies for Locomotor Disability including Leprosy cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack victims and Muscular Dystrophy & 04 vacancies for Hard of Hearing). The number of vacancies is liable to alteration.

(iii) Survey of India Group ‘A’ Service. (iv) *AEE(Civil) in Border Road Engineering Service. (v) Indian Defense Service of Engineers. (vi) AEE(QS&C) in MES Surveyor Cadre. (vii) Central Water Engineering (Group ‘A’) Service.
Category II—Mechanical Engineering:	Group-A/B Services/Posts (i) AEE in GSI Engineering Service Gr ‘A’. (ii) Indian Defense Service of Engineers. (iii) Indian Naval Armament Service (Mechanical Engineering Posts). (iv) Indian Naval Material Management Service (Mechanical Engineering Posts) (v) Central Water Engineering (Group ‘A’) Service. (vi) Indian Skill Development Service. (vii) Defense Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service/SSO-II (Mechanical). (viii) Central Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Service (Mechanical Engg.)

(iv) Indian Naval Material Management Service (Electronics and Telecom Engineering Posts) (v) Junior Telecom Officer Gr ‘B’. (vi) Defense Aeronautical Quality Assurance Service/SSO-II (Electronics & Tele).

 

Educational Qualification

(a) obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or (b) passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or (c) obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognized by the Government for the purpose from time to time, or (d) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or (e) passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; Or (f) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959 Provided that a candidate for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’ may possess any of the above qualifications or the qualification mentioned below namely: - For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engg. Posts) - M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject. For Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’– M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a subject or Master’s Degree in Science with Physics and Radio Communication or Electronics or Telecommunication as a special subject.

Age Limit

Minimum age limit: 21 years; Maximum age limit: 30 years for (General/EWS), 33 years for OBC and 35 years for ST/SC and other relaxation is as per Government rules.

Fees:

The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) [except/SC/ST candidates and those specified in Note-2 of Point 4(Fee) of the Notice who are exempted from payment of fee] either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using any Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card.

Important Dates

The Online Applications (Part I and II) can be filled from 07th April 2021 to 27th April, 2021 till 6:00 PM. The Commission has provided the withdrawal facility from 04.05.2021 to 10.05.2021 (till 6.00 PM) to those candidates who do not want to appear at this Examination.

Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination
The Union Public Service Commission will hold a Written Examination on 08th August, 2021 for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

Indian Economic Service Examination and Indian Statistical Service Examination
A combined competitive examination for recruitment to Junior Time Scale of the Services will be held by the Union Public Service Commission commencing from 16th July, 2021 in accordance with the Rules published by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation in the Gazette of India dated the 07th April, 2021.

Educational Qualification

a) A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a University incorporated by of an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time. (b) A candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Bachelor's Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or a Master's degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or a Foreign University approved by the Central Government from time to time.
